Job Description :

SUMMARY STATEMENT:


Perform bench test and inspections of all navigation and communication avionics on F-16 Aircraft. Diagnose and correct all malfunctions, removing and replacing faulty components (i.e., transistors and integrated circuits). Test and calibrate all repaired avionics equipment to manufacturer's specifications and insure components meet Airworthiness standards for return to service. Perform in-flight calibration as required. Design and fabricate new or additional shop test panels. Use a variety of electronics hand tools plus type of avionics, electrical and electronic testing equipment, such as oscilloscope and signal generator, all ramp testing equipment and other types of related testing equipment. Reports directly to Manager Avionics.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES:


1. Perform range test and calibrate aircraft to effect airworthiness.


2. Perform test and inspection of navigation and communication avionic equipment.


3. Diagnose and correct malfunctions.


4. Test and calibrate avionics equipment to specifications.


5. Daily attendance is essential to the position.


Required Qualifications :

EDUCATION & TRAINING:


High school graduate or equivalent required. Requires the use of complicated drawings, schematics, and specifications, the use of a wide variety of electronics testing equipment, and a broad knowledge of electronics as applied to avionics and functional and testing procedures. Must have required FCC license.


EXPERIENCE, SKILL, AND KNOWLEDGE:


Requires equivalent of minimum of five years diversified experience in aircraft and avionics and electrical component testing and repairing. F-16 aircraft experience is strongly preferred.
